Random quote: "As long as I'm dealing in honesty, I may as well admit that I have been more influenced (as a person) by my childhood readings of Tolkien and Lewis than I have been by any philosophers I read in college and grad school. The events and characters in Narnia and Middle Earth shaped my ideals, my dreams, my goals. Kant just annoyed me." - N.D. Wilson - (Added by: Administrator) |

Member Posts: 14 Location: France | I am enjoying this challenge so much. Thanks for setting it. I feel like it has focused my reading for the year and where I initially wondered if I could manage 12 new authors in the year it seems I am well ahead of target. The list you have is an excellent starting point but it has pushed me to look further afield too. I have a review ready for 'Clutch by J. A. Huss' once you get a chance to add it. Thanks for all the work and time you put into the site.

Admin Posts: 4003 Location: Dallas, Texas | Rhondak101 - 2013-03-08 2:07 PM Could you please add Cinder by Marissa Meyer and Scarlet by Marissa Meyer? Thanks. On the list, Rhonda! Kata - 2013-03-09 11:47 AM I stayed up until 2 in the morning to finish A Natural History of Dragons. it is a beautiful story about a young woman following a passion. I've got this one ready to go along with some other books by Brennan. Almost there. knobren - 2013-03-11 3:04 AM If you find some time, I'd love to see more books from Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series, as well as her Alpha and Omega series. I have all of those books. I just finished her newest book, Frost Burned, and I loved it. :-) I could have sworn I had that whole series in the DB! It's on the list now. cmbellerive - 2013-03-14 9:40 AM I have a review of "Hidden City" by Michelle Sagara West ready to go whenever you get a chance to add her! (Mainly, because I had just picked up the book when I discovered this challenge, so I figured I'd keep going and make it my first read...) In the meantime, on to a new woman of genre fiction! Whee. Very cool, cm! I've got her House War series on my to do list now. dihenydd - 2013-03-15 6:17 PM I am enjoying this challenge so much. Thanks for setting it. Admin Posts: 4003 Location: Dallas, Texas | We've been a little slow getting new books and authors added because we're working on a new list and some new features on the site that should be launching shortly. Here are some more books so you guys don't think we've forgotten or given up Wen Spencer Emma Newman

New User Posts: 3 Location: Michigan | I've picked up a couple of books by Miyuki Miyabe -- Brave Story (a manga) and The Book of Heroes. I'm not sure how you all feel about adding manga, and I haven't even started reading it at this point. The Book of Heroes is pretty interesting at 30 pages in, though -- it strikes me as a YA level, though the cover seems geared towards children.

You are most welcome! savagelit - 2013-03-19 8:23 PM I've picked up a couple of books by Miyuki Miyabe -- Brave Story (a manga) and The Book of Heroes. Yeah, I don't think we'll be adding manga to the site anytime soon. There's just too much to do in the space we're in now with novels, collections and anthologies etc. to branch out that far. I'm really starting to develop an interest in manga from gallyangel's excellent series though. In case you've not seen it we just posted another installment on the blog that you should check out. I'm easing into the genre with anime right now but someday I'll give a real manga a shot. And now for some books: Marie Brennan Fiona Patton Jennifer Fallon @Kata: We finally got Natural History of Dragons added for ya. I'm looking forward to your review! Hapy reading!

New User Posts: 3 Location: Michigan | That's fine -- I don't actually enjoy manga art, myself. There's something about the big eyes -- seems to have the opposite effect it's supposed to have on me. I mostly just checked it out to get a better idea of Miyuke Miyabe's work. However, The Book of Heroes is a novel. Would you be able to add it? It seems to be the only thing I can get through my library of hers that's in English. Edited by savagelit 2013-03-22 6:14 PM

New User Posts: 4 | This page is getting too long for me to scroll through to see if anybody else has requested this title, but is there any way you can add Point of Hopes, by Melissa Scott and Jill Barnett, to the database sooner rather than later? I read it this month and have my review written, just waiting for it to get in the database so I can add it. Thanks!

Admin Posts: 4003 Location: Dallas, Texas | Hey everybody, we've fallen off the pace a bit in adding new authors and books lately. Mostly it's because real life has a way of jacking up my plans but also we've spent a lot of time working on site updates and the Genre Lit-Flick list. Check that out if you've not seen it! And now, I'm off on vacation for the next week! My apologies to those of you waiting on book additions. We'll get back on track when I return. Happy reading!

Member Posts: 9 | I can't remember if these have already been requested, but could you add the Kate Elliott books, Spirit Gate, Shadow Gate, and Traitors' Gate in the Crossroads series, as well as Cold Magic and Cold Fire, which are the first two books in the Spiritwalker Trilogy? I've started reading Spirit Gate, assuming it would already be in the database. Thanks!
