Regular Posts: 77 | I've been working my way through selections available in Audible's new Plus catalog (works a bit like Amazon's Kindle Unlimited). They have several offerings from Asaro's saga. They list both the published order as well as a 'chronological' order for the series (BTW, they list a 15th installment - Undercity which is also listed as #2 in the chronological order). My question is if there is a suggested reading order (I generally prefer publication order) or if each are largely standalone stories within the Skolian universe?

Extreme Veteran Posts: 556 Location: Great Lakes, USA | I read the Skolian Empire books in publication order, as I was always eagerly awaiting the next one. The Major Bhaajan books can be read separately (so far) as they don't have overlapping characters other than Major Bhaajan who has retired from her duties in the main Skolian books. I don't know that "chronological" order would be better, but I had no problems following the series reading them in publication order.
