Hey,

I recently picked up "Salsa Nocturna" and "Half-Resurrection Blues" by Daniel Jose Older; would love to be able to log them. Thanks!

Would someone be willing to add these 2014-published anthologies, which I am reading for Hugo short fiction noms?

Upgraded

Hieroglyph: Stories and Visions for a Better Future

War Stories: New Military Science Fiction

Coming Soon Enough: Six Tales of Technology's Future

Paradox: Stories Inspired by the Fermi Paradox

I got all but one in. Coming Soon Enough. That one doesn't seem to have an editor and it's an ebook only. I'm thinking it's a not at this particular moment for our database. Maybe later.

The editor of Coming Soon Enough is given as Stephen Cass according to the front matter via Look Inside.

But that doesn't negate it's ebook only status.

I know, I'm a paper snob.

Thanks for those!

Coming Soon Enough was commissioned by the IEEE Spectrum for its 50th Anniversary:

http://spectrum.ieee.org/static/coming-soon-enough-ieee-spectrums-first-science-fiction-anthology

It is in the ISFDB, for whatever that's worth.

So I don't know whether that meets WWE's qualifications for the database. Admin?

Oh, and these additions to series already in WWE are just out, and need to be added:

A Murder of Clones: A Retrieval Artist Universe Novel: Book Three of the Anniversary Day Saga (Retrieval Artist series 10)

The End is Now (The Apocalypse Triptych Book 2)

While I'm no fan of eBook only publications (I still like my dead tree books) it seems to me that is where the industry is headed.  I'd rather not fight the inevitable especially if it means leaving out a book like this that sounds rather interesting.  It certainly has a well know bunch of authors who contributed.

If I ever said "no eBook only books allowed" in the past, and it may be that I did I just can't remember, then I'll conditionally take that back now.  The publishing industry is changing and "eBook only" does not necessarily have to mean self/indie/vanity published which is one of the very few restrictions we try to maintain.  Many organizations/publishers/authors are taking advantage of the new technology to put out books they might never have considered when paper was the only, and expensive, option available.

The conditional part is that I think we still need to be selective and do that little bit of research into the publisher to verify they're legit.  It's becoming harder all the time to differentiate the professional publishers from the amateurs.   In this case IEEE is a reputable organization so I vote we allow it.

Huh, don't know why I didn't find it in my initial search, but I do see it there now. Thanks for those!

Ok. Thanks for the clarification. I didn't notice that we already had the publisher in the database. So that probably means we need it done as well. Is it a trifecta? Book, publisher, and editor? That would be rare.

Is it possible to add The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman? She is published by PanMacmillan/Tor and the book was released this month.

Could someone please add Our Lady of the Islands by Jay Lake and Shannon Page? It sounds fantastic, and the library has it en route to my local branch for me.

This would also qualify for the 2015 Women of Genre Fiction Challenge, as Page is a new author to WWE.

I would like to have the anthology Scarborough Fair and Other Stories added, if possible, as I'd also like to have this in my Women of Genre Fiction Challenge.

I'm not surprised -- though it looks as though they have been around since 2003

Hhmm, Page is the acquisitions editor at Per Aspera, so she is essentially publishing her own book. But from what I gather from the website Per Aspera could be considered a small press and both Lake and Page have published in other professional venues before. I'm giving the Lake and Page book the benefit of the doubt. Gimme a sec to get it entered.
