I'm in 9 challenges, and have read 3 books that count towards them, only one of which was actually intentional (the other 2 I had read before I joined the relevant challenges):

Slow River by Nicola Griffith
WoGF
Masterworks (SF Masterwork)
12 in 12 (Nebula 1996)

Mistborn: The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson
Book of Ones
End of the World*

We by Yevgeny Zamyatin
End of the World
Guardian

*I'm a bit dubious about this. It is post-apocalyptic, but it's not our world and feels out of place. I'm leaving it for now because I might need it.

The challenges I have yet to start are Read the Sequel, Second Best and Elizabeth Noun, although I will start the first two when I finish my current book.

I really really liked both Mistborn and Slow River. We, I think, is maybe more historically important than actually fun to read, although it was by no means bad. It just didn't keep me up late like the other two.

So far my challenge spreadsheet contains 39 books, with 22 spaces to fill. Admittedly, one of the 39 doesn't actually count for any of the challenges yet, I just want to read it, and suspect it will be at least nominated for some awards this year.

I also read two crime books for my other off-site challenge. There is a book I am eyeing up that will work for 4 challenges on here and my crime challenge.

State of the Challenge report - Young Adult Reading Challenge.

We've got four reviews in so far, and four more books read but not yet reviewed. With 19 participants signed up, this is the fourth most popular challenge. As host, I am hoping this challenge will capture some young readers this summer and increase participation on this web site.

Sequel - 2 Glamor in Glass and Sky Coyote
WoGF - 0
Masterworks - 1 The House on the Borderlands
Threes - 0
Elizabeths - 0
Authors - 2 Glamour in Glass and Sky Coyote
Guardian - 0
Killer B's - 0

I'm currently reading Ash and Remnant Population, which will go towards the WoGF/Masterworks and Authors/Elizabeths/Masterworks Challenges respectively.

I read one not on my Challenges list and not in the database yet - Pitch Green by The Brothers Wayburn - a YA Horror novel. Some of you may want to read that for the YA Challenge. I also read Burning Paradise by Robert Charles Wilson, which didn't fit into any of the Challenges I signed up for.

I'm working on my fourth book which means I'm approximately nine days ahead of schedule in The 35 reading challenge. My biggest challenge is the size of some of my books. At least a dozen of them are over 500 pages.

So that is 9 of 114 slots filled in. Im trying to accomplish this with very strategic selections from my TBR list. The 35 is my primary goal, and Im trying to see how much of the rest I can accomplish by reading my TBR. Next up: Red Mars which will count for 12 in 12, Marxists, Pick and Mix, and the 35.

Several of the books I read last month aren't in the WWEnd database yet, but here's my list:

The Warrior's Apprentice by Lois McMaster Bujold
WoGF

Engine Empire by Cathy Park Hong
Authors of Color
WoGF

Probability Moon by Nancy Kress
WoGF

Adaptation by Malinda Lo
Authors of Color

The Diploids and Other Flights of Fancy by Katherine MacLean
Short Fiction
WoGF

The Queen of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner
Read the Sequel

Current challenge totals:
Authors of Color: 2/12
Elizabeth Noun: 0/3
Guardian: 0/7
Read the Sequel: 1/12
Short Fiction: 1/12
WoGF: 4/12
Young Adult: 0/12

Favorite book read in January:
The Warrior's Apprentice by Lois McMaster Bujold. Fun, exciting space opera with great characters and interesting worldbuilding. I'm definitely tempted to dive into the rest of the Vorkosigan Saga right away, but the current plan is to pace myself, draw out the enjoyment, and read just one sequel a month.

I have signed up for 5 challenges. Here is the progress in them all:

Grand Masters
I have picked all 12 books although, I have had to request 3 of them
I am 1/2 way through Dan Simmons bloated prose that is "Drood". 800+ pages. I would like to break all ten of his overworked typing fingers!

I Just Have To Read More of That Author
Picked all 12 books, although I might make some changes. I would like to limit the number of books I use for duplicate challenges, And I have a number of duplicates here. I am slowly changing them as I come across other books to read instead.
Finished
Abarat by Clive Barker, but I am seriously thinking of replacing this one with Days of Magic, Nights of War, the second book in his series.

Young Adult Reading Challenge
Picked all 12 books
Completed:
Abarat - Clive Barker
The House of The Scorpion - Nancy Farmer (considering replacing one of my "Read More" duplicates with her 2013 follow-up novel "the Lord of Opium"

One World To Rule Them All
I chose Terry Prachett's "Discworld"

The Number Of The Counting Shall Be 3
Picked all my series. I have one SF - Lilith's Brood series Octavia Butler
One Fantasy - The Kate and Cecelia series Patricia Wrede and Caroline Stevermer
One Horror - Dead World series - Joe McKinney
Completed:
Sorcery and Cecelia or The Enchanted Chocolate Pot

For those of you who followed my ramblings to the end, the count is 3 books and reviews done and 1/2 of a book read (Damn you Dan Simmons!)
