Biography
Mel Odom also writes under the pen names of Alex Archer and James Axler
Mel Odom (born 1957) is an American writer who graduated from high school in Byng, Oklahoma, in 1976 and later graduated with a bachelors degree in English from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.
Odom is best known for his novels of science fiction and fantasy, though he has also written non-fiction about computer gaming. He has published more than 140 books in numerous fields - action-adventure, computer strategy guides, fantasy, game-related fiction, horror, juvenile, movie novelizations, science fiction, and young adult - as well as comics. He is known to have written under several pen names, including Jordan Gray and Don Pendleton.
Odom teaches undergraduate courses at the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication in the Professional Writing program at the University of Oklahoma. He lives in Moore, Oklahoma, with his wife and five children.
