This is an old fashioned style of horror. Some wouldn't be impressed, but I love the way Lovecraft builds the tension, frequently without ever showing anything. He is a master of words and it clearly shows in these 18 short stories about elder gods, sea monsters and various other nasties.
If you have a love for dark, brooding stories, and stories told by a master storyteller, then give this collection a go.
