The Sector General stories are great space opera - with a highly imaginative classification of alien species by their similarity to humans, meaning how easily they can be worked on by human doctors.
Sadly, the style won't appeal to many: it is very rooted in the gosh! wow! days of SF, with characterisation and plot not particularly important.
However, thet ARE good stories - adn anyone who is a real SF fan should be familiar with them!
