This book is the second in the Tales of the 22nd Century series (or Caine Riordan series) and is better than the first. Caine Riordan is still the main character, but at least in this book, intelligent women aren't turning off their brains in his presence.

Two alien species from the first book have taken over parts of Indonesia with the help of an Earth corporation. There are a lot of space battles and a lot of ground battles to regain the territory lost. There is a lot of political intrigue. Sometimes the battle descriptions are a bit long. But, for the most part, this book is good military science fiction.
