Breif Synapsis.....Way Station is the story of Enoch Wallace who's childhood home in Wisconsin has been transformed into a "way station" for alien travelers. Enoch has been keeper of the station for over 100 years and does not age while in his converted home. No one knows his secret, however, people are beging to take notice. The story takes it from there.

This is a wonderful book and certainly worthy of it's Hugo award.

The story has the perfect blend of fantasy and realism. This is acheived, primarily, through the contrast of the wonders that take place within the station versus the simplicity of the Wisconsin town.

Although a bit on the short side, Way Station addresses a numnber of importnat themes effectively. War, murder, evolution, friendship, loyalty, love what is Earth's place amung the stars? Those questions are answered as the events of the book unfold and the resolution is both convincing and rewarding. The characters, most of which you don't come to know particularly well, all play their parts masterfully. Not an easy task, but a task acheived.

This is the first book I've read by Clifford Simak and I've already bought the next.

Highly reccomend.
