I must say this is now one of my all-time favorite books. In parts it is heartwarming and other parts heartbreaking, and in the end, I wept for Charlie and Algernon. A stark reminder of the strength of kindness and the weakness of contempt, arrogance, and intellectuals with overinflated egos. The writing style flows beautifully and the method of it being Charlie's journal, written with bad grammar and spelling to start then evolving and devolving as the story progressed and culminated, is pure genius. No wonder it won a Nebula and Hugo. A must-read for real admirers of great sci-fi and great humanist stories. 5-stars!
