"You are the nearest thing to absolute perfection that ever came into this imperfect world," he continued. "Just to think of a girl of your sheer beauty, your ability, your charm, your all-round perfection, being engaged to a thing like me, makes me dizzy--but I sure do love you, little girl of mine. Well at least he IS sweet.I am reading a Lester Del Rey novel, Police your Planet, about a hardboiled cop on Mars, and he has beaten up and knocked out the ''love interest' several times.True she has tried to kill him a few times but it sure aint sweet!...it is equal opportunity beat your partner up, I suppose.Think I prefer Doc Smith's hero! |
