I can't speak for the whole run but I have a couple of yellow spined Masterworks and they aren't on acid free paper. I've heard the black spined are more highly regarded but haven't run across any in my area second hand. Vintage SF had an episode about his Masterworks collection that you might find useful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9XRn-eM2wA

Yeah, SF Masterworks books are usually printed on acid-free paper, so they hold up pretty well over time. I?ve had a few in my collection for years now, and they still look good without any signs of yellowing or wear. It?s a nice touch since I like to keep my books in decent shape for a long while.

I'm not sure about all SF Masterworks, but I've got a few and they seem to be pretty decent quality paper. I haven't noticed any yellowing or deterioration, but I'm not an expert on paper types.

The black-bound versions seem to be more highly regarded, but they can be hard to find in used book form. Thanks for sharing the Vintage SF episode?I'll definitely check it out! Have you come across any particular versions that seem to hold up better over time?"
